How many of you are guilty of either skipping a warm-up or simply doing a little running before working out? In this article, Robertson discuss the importance of a proper warm-up before your work out. He emphasizes three phases to a warm-up: reset, readiness, and specificity. In the reset, the goal is to establish the proper posture. Readiness is what we traditionally think of in regards to warm-ups. This phase increases blood flow to the muscles. Additionally, Robertson has a breakdown of warm-ups for each joint. Check it out yourself!
